The thesis

A unicorn that only exists as a number. No file. No artist. Just a seed.

1. 01

   Pixel + seed

   There is no folder of images behind unipons. Each unicorn is the output of one function, render(id), run on a number between 1 and 999. The id is hashed into a seed, the seed drives every choice, and the same id produces the same unicorn every time, on any machine, forever. The site you are looking at is the artwork. Delete the PNGs and nothing is lost.

2. 02

   How it is generated

   Every unipon is a 24 by 24 grid. Layers are stamped in a fixed order: background, tail, body, marking, mane, horn, eye, accessory. Each layer is a hand-drawn bitmap picked from a small weighted table, coloured from one of 24 coats and 12 backgrounds. Contrast between coat and background is checked, and re-picked if it fails. Rarity is just the sum of one over the odds of each pick, so a wink under a halo on a gold coat is rare because it is rare, not because someone said so.

   Where $uPONS fits

   $uPONS is a fixed-supply token launched on pons. Holders and collectors are the same community: the token is the ticket, the unicorns are the culture. To be clear, no NFTs have been minted, none are promised, and holding $uPONS does not entitle you to a unipon or anything else. The 999 exist as numbers you can look at, share, and argue about. That is the whole offer.

4. 04

   The name

   uni + pons = unipons. A unicorn that lives on pons. It is a pun, and it is also the entire roadmap.
